The Wilds Lodge is in the Eastern Cape in the rural village of Mpame, located on the dramatic and beautiful coastline of the fondly called Transkei Wild Coast. The Wild Coast runs south, stretching from Port Edward (north) to East London (south).
The lodge is self-catering, designed with both the angler and non-angler in mind. It is ideally positioned, offering a remote and serene setting for those wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. It has spectacular open views of the ocean and rolling hills that lovingly embrace the livestock grazing upon its lush green grass.
At night as you relax, enjoying the sounds of a crackling fire whilst sipping on your favourite beverage, you will be awed by the stars in the clear night sky. After a good night’s sleep, you will wake to the sounds of the big blue sea, crowing rooster or braying donkey and chatter of the locals easing into the dawn of a brand new day.
There are many activities to choose from, including good fishing at the many fishing spots near the lodge. For those who love walking/hiking and mountain biking, the rolling Transkei hills and beautiful beaches (where awe meets wonder) extend a warm and open invitation to explore. You are sure to meet with sheep and goats on the way, enjoying the luscious Transkei grass or donkeys and cows strolling on the beach. They would be happy to take a selfie with you.
Kayaking with Sinovuyo is also on offer at the Mncwasa River, a short distance from The Wilds. Of course, spending leisure time at the beach (sun, surf and sand) is what makes beach holidays extra special. You can choose either Mpame or Long Beach (on either side of the Wilds). Surfing at Mpame Beach and snorkelling (at the many rock pools below the lodge) are always enjoyable, so remember to bring your gear along.
The photo opportunities in and around The Wilds (including the spectacular sunrises and sunsets) are plentiful. Therefore, make sure your camera is on hand to capture all your special moments that forge forever memories.
